I designed this coaster to use in the kitchen, under the dish-soap bottle. The pattern not only looks nice, but it also prevents the bottle will stick to the coaster. The object is optimized for 3D printing and works with a wide range of nozzle sizes, layer heights and materials. Update 2022-01-09: I added various heights and diameters for the model. Also, I did some maintenance and updated this model to my latest 3d printing standards. How to Print the CoasterPrint the coasters on the flat bottom side. They do not need any supporta . In the file section, you will find a PrusaSlicer example project. Use this as a good base for your settings, or check the table below: Nozzle Size:0.4mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mmLayer Height:0.2mm recommended for 0.4mm nozzle. Use a matching layer height for larger nozzle size.Filament Materials:PLA, PETG, …Perimeters:Three perimeters!Prusa Slicer Profile:“0.2mm Quality”DimensionsThe model file name has this format: LR2037-R<rim height>-D<object diameter>.3mf Rim Height (R)The rim height also defines the overall height of the coaster. The number is the height in millimetres. There are three variants: 8mm, 12mm, and 16mm. Object Diameter (D)This object's diameter is specified in millimetres. It is not the outer rim diameter but the diameter of the object (bottle, mug) you like to place on the coaster. There is a 5mm spacing around the object to the rim. Catalogue PDFIn the file section, you will find a catalogue PDF with a complete overview of all dimensions. This catalogue also contains handy tables where you can easily look up all models based on a single parameter. Each model in the catalogue is shown with an image, all parameters and the corresponding model file name. So, before you despair of finding the right model, download the catalogue and search for the model's name there. Explore More from Meti·kumiInterested in my designs? The original model has the filename LR2037-101.3mf and you find it in the file section. The new rim width is 2.49mm instead of 2mm. This optimizes prints for the recommended nozzle. The original model was designed for a bottle with a diameter of 72mm and 10mm spacing around this bottle. The new models support a various range of object diameters and use a spacing of 5mm around the object. The original model used a frame of 3mm around the pattern. The new models reduce this frame to 2.5mm.The closest new model to match the original model is LR2037-R12-D080. This model is almost identical to the original. How to Remove the Part NumberThe models have a part number engraved in the bottom. If you don't like this part number, you can add a cylinder of 1mm height in PrusaSlicer. About the PhotosIn the photos you see a coaster that was heavy in use for over two years and took many dishwasher cycles. The coaster was printed on a Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ using the PETG filament “Polymaker PolyLite PETG Violett”. ConclusionThis is a simple and robust design. If you print it with PETG, you can put it in the dishwasher at a low temperature. If you found it useful, please rate it and upload photos of how you used it. Happy Printing!
