DescriptionPipe clamps are well known in the wood working community for being a cheap way to expand your set of clamps, but they are also utilitarian enough to act in other capacities. Using a pipe clamp and a short length of black iron pipe, this model can be used to mount a monitor. With creativity it can be expanded to mount multiple monitors in many configurations. Small TV's are even within the scope of this but a different bulkier 3D model should be used (see my other models). Non-3D Printed ComponentsAside from the nuts, bolts, and washers, you will need a pipe clamp and pipe. I use ¾ inch this model but there isn't a physical reason why ½ inch couldn't be used if you are willing to adjust the 3D models. Unlike the traditional orientation for wood glue ups, the pipe clamp will be fastened vertically to the edge of the desk where you will mount the monitor. Used clamps and pipes are a good way to do this cheaply. Cleaning them off with mineral spirits and apply a coat of clear coat will fix most cosmetic imperfections. 3D Printed ComponentsThe 3D model was specifically made for a Dell monitor but should work with any VESA 100x100 monitor. It will attach it to a 3/4 iron pipe. The VESA side of the mount uses M5 size screws to secure it to the monitor. A 1.5 inch ¼-20 bolt, 2 fender washers, and 1 nut are used to attach the pipe clamp to the mount. The pipe clamp side of the model is secured to the pipe using two 1 inch 1/4-20 bolts and nuts (shorter may also work). Two style of clamp models are provided: one for vertical pipes and one for horizontal pipes. This is based on another of my models but uses ¼-20 fasteners where possible which are more easily accessible in US big box stores. STEP files are also included for easier modification.
