We wanted to create a garden around our letterbox but was surprised to see the cost of garden edging from our local stores, after some modelling we came up with this which turned out to be about ⅓ the cost (filament only) of the store bought options. There are two models available, one 350mm long for those with a 300mm bed and one 249mm long to fit on the standard ender size bed, in both cases they will need to be positioned diagonally. Each segment is intended to be joined together with small zip ties. The holes in the base are 3mm for either pegs or in my case I just used 2.85mm clout nails to secure it to the ground as they were significantly cheaper and seem to work just as well. The best way to place the edging is to first zip tie all of the sections together and then lay it in place. Adjust until it looks as intended and place a peg/nail in the ends then middle before continuing on with the rest. PETG is probably the bare minimum for this as it’s reasonably UV stable and just flexible enough to bend slightly to suit your garden. If bending you will definitely want to print with the base on the build plate. Happy printing and look forward to hopefully seeing some nice gardens for inspiration!
