Why not enter a contest, am I right? I don't typically keep my phone on a stand, but every once in a while, I do need to have it propped up. This stand was designed to be very easy and quick to print (just 30 minutes!), and like a lot of my models, it prints in vase mode! It holds my Pixel 6 Pro quite well, and it does not block any functionality (you can still swipe up to go home with no issues). And when you don't need a phone stand, it doubles as a pretty decent door stop! Picking the right sizeTo hold all kinds of phones, there several different models. They are labelled with the maximum thickness that each model can hold (e.g. “phone wedge 8mm (catdad workshop).stl” can hold a phone up to 8mm thick). If you are unsure, Phone Arena has a handy lookup tool where you can find the thickness of your phone. In the photos, I used the 10mm version and fits a Pixel 6 Pro with a dBrand skin. For the iPad Air 2022, I printed the 8mm version and that was actually wrong – I should have used the 7mm version instead. Print settingsI am not here to tell you what to do, but here are some suggestions if you want them: Layer height: 0.3mm (fast is nice)Line width: 0.8mm (this helps to make it sturdy, you can set this even on a 0.4mm nozzle)Bottom layers: 0 (you don't need a bottom!)Printing temperature: bump it up 5 to 10 degrees higher than usualThat's it, enjoy!
