1.- IntroductionAs with all prints I do, all start or from a need, a fix or a lust-to-have. This model was designed as a fix for a broken heel in a sky boot from a good friend, that got deteriorated due to age and use. 2.- Design ProcessThe design process was straight forward. It was done iteratively preparing test prints for being sure that the estimated measurements were correct, such as hole placement, check that the heel angle is correct and that there is no problem with the fittings. Once all was perfect it was easy to finalize the design and print the complete part. It was fun to design the heel part with Fusion360, based on a very deteriorated part, especially when you don't want to touch the other heel pair part until you finish it (from the other boot) 3.- Printing the ModelFor printing, it is required to change the vertical shell perimeters to 4 (or more) to enforce the sole places where it gets attached to the boot (holes for the attachment screws) I did not turn on supports, although it is possible to add supports for the sole patterns to get well printed. I suggest printing in PET-G, or even in a hard TPU for having a better feeling.
